I don't understand why hp would still be using this card, my dad's pc is using this card and the pc is only 2 years old. My pc is an older version of this pc but with a bigger tower about 5 year old but is compatible with Windows Have hp built a pc to con unsuspecting customer's that it's all brand new!
Dear Spthinkle, Your instructions got me through a very bad place; Windows 10 flat-out refused to install and recommended that I buy a new computer.
I would add the following frill: be sure to use the option to create a disk from which to install Windows If you click directly on the install Windows 10 button, you get the same helpful suggestion. If you install from a disk, you will again be told that the driver is not compatible, but you can continue the installation and get a Microsoft default driver as you indicated. I thought maybe I could try to live with the default driver, but round things became ovals and text was hard to read. So I went to step 2 and downloaded the driver.
This worked flawlessly, and my display looks just fine again, with legible text and round circles. I tried this but when I went to install the driver to which the link goes GeForce This is despite my hardware being stated as Nvidia Geforce se NForce on Foxconn M61PMV motherboard , which others have had success with and which is listed on the driver page as compatible.
However I managed to do the Windows 10 upgrade the way OldFran suggested, when it warns that the video chip is incompatible you just click 'Confirm' and the installation continues. I now have the default Windows basic video driver but I was able to change the resolution to x which is what I need and it looks fine.
I still can't install the Nvidia driver but at least it all works. I haven't tried any fancy video testing but don't really need it for this machine, fortunately. I suspect that the driver would work fine if there was a way to 'force' it to install but I don't know how But, it's way past time to retire it.
I've got so many upgrades on it that I've lost count of what I've done to it, lol. Anyway, to anybody else who is still using these boards You'll fair off better by installing a new PCIE x16 graphics card. The old embedded card will auto-disable when you install the new one, but you might still have to enter the cmos setup and make sure the reserved video memory switches to the AGP installation. If you don't check that, then the OS might rob your RAM for onboard graphic resources you're not going to use.
Just a heads up on that. If you get a black screen, then it means you forgot to switch to AGP mode. Windows 10 x64 You Are my Sanity Life Saver. Thank You. This driver should at least be given a update for Windows Granted, it still works great Using it with Windows 10 , however, it could at least get a update.
Just reading through this topic here, sounds like it very well could be caused by the driver itself. Etanarvazac said: This driver should at least be given a update for Windows It won't be officially available because it was never certified for Windows 10 in the first place. Hi, If you're reading this in June or later and have this problem, try downloading the NVIDIA drivers for windows 8 since 10 does not appear in the dropdown when selecting your drivers.
I just did this and it resolved my issue. A Microsoft generic driver was installed on the graphics card and the display did not look good. Also, the PC had no Sleep option. I struggled to find a driver for Windows 10 with no joy. Then I found your post about installing the 8. And it also corrected the Sleep option. Thank you. Wow, wow, wow.
It works! After days of effort, it Works. I could not find this driver despite days of searching and trying other drivers that Nvidia said would work, but after trying each of them - no luck.
Your direct link to the correct driver saved the day. Thanks so much! In my recent search I found this thread. Win10 struggles to render video on youtube where in lubuntu youtube delivers p no problem. System I installed win10 64 on and needed GPU drivers for is the following. This worked for my Emachine 2-Core Mhz, up to 2.
