Pixelmator sets a new standard for photo editing on iPhone and iPad with a suite of staggeringly powerful tools. Combining gorgeous templates, intuitive touch-screen controls, and completely customizable effects, this full-featured editor is in a class all its own.

Really love the new keyboard and trackpad support—really makes it feel like a pro app. Thanks for fixing the issues with selection editing with the keyboard too!

As some of the other reviews mentioned, the UI is definitely a little clunky especially on big iPad screens—especially the two modal screens you have to go through to choose a specific brush or selection type.

Would love to have a tool sidebar kind of like the desktop Pixelmator app! A nice little bonus would be to have enhanced pointer shapes with brushes, erasers, etc. What if we had bigger pointers for larger brush sizes?

Maybe a crosshair for more precise sizes? How about a unique pointer shape for the pixel brush tool, which also has pointer snapping to each pixel for even more precision? So many possibilities to make this a really unique experience for the iPad. Pixelmator Pro is an incredibly powerful, beautiful, and easy-to-use image editor designed exclusively for Mac.

I remember when Pixelmator Pro came out and dazzled everyone with it's instantaneous filter affects utilizing the GPU putting shame on "the" primary image editor at the time , and then a bit later they had a few GUI improvements here and there.

However, in the last year or two something amazing has happened -- they seem to have crossed some knee-of-the-curve for innovation and new features. Every time I turn around, Pixelmator Pro is doing something new, something cool, something better and it's just fantastic. Pixelmator Pro is on the very top of my watch list for what incredible photo editing technology is about to get popular.

Pixelmator Pro doesn't pull punches when it comes to editing photos. It's not generic applications of filters, it's not a set of precanned special effects. From their AI Enhance to non-destructive highly-granular controls for experts, coupled now with automation I'm constantly turning to Pixelmator Pro and it'd got my back every time. Like many, I have used Photoshop for a very long time—since the early 90s.

I was very upset when Adobe switched to a subscription model which I thought was expensive, and started to look for a replacement. I had dabbled with Pixelmator a few years ago but was able to keep Photoshop CS5 going on my Mac and was able to stick with it, even as far as Mojave. But then a few months ago, Photoshop finally started to crash every time I launched it and I was unable to use it anymore.

To modify the selection borders, choose one of the following selection modes in the Tool Options bar:. Once a selection is complete, changes can be applied to the selected region. For instance, a selected area or object can be moved, rotated, scaled, flipped, duplicated, cut, filled, inverted, copied, and pasted elsewhere. Also, color adjustments and corrections, as well as various special effects and filters can be applied to the selection.

Pixelmator Classic.
