The Department of Sociology at the University of Central Florida offers a vibrant learning community with 25 nationally recognized full-time faculty members and 64 graduate students pursuing M. We encourage our students to interact with our faculty, staff, and community partner network to elevate their learning and to develop new theories, methods, and skillsets for both academic and non-academic careers. We support full time and part-time graduate school options in our department.

To help our students succeed, our department promotes collaboration, dialogue, professional development, mentoring networks, diverse and inclusive workspaces, community connections, and cutting-edge research and education opportunities for students to work with faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.

UCF Sociology graduate programs offer high-quality learning experiences, an award-winning faculty with strong national connections and grants from major federal institutes and regional agencies.

Our current graduate students also are of great importance to our new students. Practical Experience Through strong partnerships with public and private schools, nonprofit organizations, and community agencies and centers, the school provides students with multiple opportunities to engage in embedded field experiences, service learning, student teaching and research.

Professional Learning Teacher candidates enhance their coursework and field experience through KnightED Talks , weekly professional learning workshops led by various faculty members, certified preK educators and school administrators with expertise in areas relevant to teaching. These free workshops cover topics such as classroom management, teacher evaluation and tips for interviewing for teaching positions.

Students are empowered to achieve their educational goals by providing a variety of services and activities that enhance their personal development, expand their educational experiences, and support their individual responsibility for goal attainment. The program will also provide services to adult learners who have yet to earned a secondary school diploma or a GED.

Bell says she has always had an interest in addiction medicine and wants to work with marginalized groups.
